Self Storage Tip 💡 💰

I have absolutely LOVED  working on this segment …. Looking at the progression of the business over the years is honestly one of my favourite things to do 

Every site is performing really really well … If I’m super critical, I want Clough Rd to increase its revenue … But we will get there with that site 

In self storage most of the operating costs at a site are fixed! Meaning there won’t be a lot of difference with the expenses on day 1, as there will be in year 5.

This then means when you increase the revenue, there isn’t any extra costs associated to that increased revenue. 

This makes self storage a very unique industry … There’s only SAS and self storage that I can think of where there isn’t any extra costs, the more customers you acquire (I’m sure there are more) … 

That’s one of the reason the multiples when you sell are so high …. It really is a brilliant business model

Key things to note -

• No new sites for us in 2025 (that WILL change in 2026), which has meant we have focused on increasing the lettable sq ft at our current locations and revenue  

   

• Between 2024 and 2025, we increased revenue by £484,827

   

• That's a 25% increase in revenue. I'm obviously very happy with this, but we don’t stop there!!

What is the growth strategy for 2026 …. Great question. The answer is it’s a 3 pronged attack -

1. Continue with our robust revenue management at our current sites 
    

2. Open new sites … We have a few sites already planned in 2026 
    

3. Acquisitions! With Wrexham being so successful, we would be crazy not to … And we have new investment to attack the market … So if you want to sell, you know where to come 🙂

Lastly, I like to look at December's revenue to give you an idea of what to expect the following year 

December’s 2025 revenue was - £216,489

Times by 12 (months in the year) - £2,597,868

So even if we just hit December’s figures every month through 202,6 then we can expect around a £188,027 revenue increase in 2026. This is a 8% increase. BUTTT, we will do more guys!!
