This is actually an old article ... But I came across it yesterday and thought it was fascinating reading so I wanted to share. 

Its a Self Storage Demand Study from America.

Its interesting to me because it shows even in a more mature market like America selfr storage continues to grow!

  • 2 - Self Storage proposed for Shopping Plaza!

Gone have the days in America where a self storage facility is down a run down industrial estate .... Now they are moving into shopping plaza's 

Wont be long before this is happening in the UK ... I keep saying it ... The better the position of your storage the more longevity you have and ultimately it will be worth more ...

... Yesss i get the cost is more but thats the price you pay 

  • 3 - CBRE buys 8,697 units over 14 self storage sites for undisclosed amount.

I may have mentioned this one before ... Theres so many bloody acquisitions in America, I cant keep up haha. 

Either way, this is a different article and worth a read. There is consolidation happing in America .... It WILL happen in the UK in the next decade as well

Want to improve your conversion rates substantially??

It's a lot simpler than you think ...

You have to get hold of your prospects and speak to them. 

We have seen a dramatic increase in conversions since we been aggressively trying to make contact with our prospects earlier ... The closer to the quote time the better.

Operators fall in to three categories when dealing with quotes -

  • Operator 1 - Doesnt call their quote/prospects back after the initial quote ... They believe if the customers wants to reserve the unit they will call them. That could happen but its unlikely .... DONT BE THAT COMPANY!!  

  • Operator 2 - Calls the quote/prospect back but if they dont answer they dont call back. Again falling it the mindset that if need storage they will call us .... Dont be this company either

  • Operator 3 - Calls the quote/prospect back within 5 minutes of the quote coming through (They know the prospect is hotter the quicker you call them). If they dont answer they set their CRM system to remind to call them back. Thats not all, they follow up via text and email and even send a Bonjoro message. Operator 3 knows if they just speak to the prospect the chances of a reservation dramatically increases! BE MORE OPERATOR 3 .... They reserve more units than the other two operators!!

We've done a deep dive into this recently. We are converting at well over 50% when we actually speak to the prospect. Thats a massive increase on national conversion rates 

So the takeaway here is ... Speak to that prospect!!
