Self Storage Tip - 💡 💰 🤑
What % of your revenue should be spent on marketing ?? 😮💨
This is a great question to be asking
What do I spend ?
My revenue is around the £1.3 million
I currently spend around £4,500 each month on adds
That’s £54,000 a year
That’s 4% of my revenue on adds
Please bare in mind when you first open your facility the percentage will be a lot higher because there is less revenue
When you have mature sites the percentage will be lower
I think a solid rule of thumb for a mature site should be around 4-5%
Self Storage spend less than most industries … According to Google
The average B2C company should spend between 5 - 10% of revenue
I think the main advice I can give is know your numbers …
If you know your CTA (cost to acquire) a customer and you know your LTV (life time value) of a customer and the cost to acquire is less than the life time value you shouldn’t have a limit
If its this sort of ratio = Putting £50 on the floor and picking up £300 … Then keep spending!
There shouldn’t be a limit or a % of revenue … Your marketing then becomes an investment not a cost
Just keep a close eye on the numbers
