Ive literally been reading about this story all night … So many news outlets are writing about it

I dont think we should underestimate what a massive deal this is for Big Yellow … I personally cant wait to see the development

For context, this is where I sit to work most mornings in Beverley … I love it!

If you look at Neros its dirty, looks uncared for, needs a paint job ❌

Now look at Cervone’s, looks clean, looks tidy, looks cared for ✅

Ive been sat here for just over an hour …. 🕐

One shop has had 1 customer in … No Joke!

The other has had over a constant que

So which is the busy one?

You got it … Neros!!

Why??

One Word -

BRANDING 👏

Ive never even been into Cervone’s, I always go to Neros no matter how big the que!

I know Neros, I trust Neros, I know what I will get at Neros

So what has this got to do with Self Storage? 🤔

Don’t underestimate the power of Brand!

Safe Store and Big Yellow are creating and building their “Brands”

Their buildings are highly visible and on high traffic roads

They are “Brand Marketing” … This is different to “Intent Based Marketing”

(I only do Intent Based Marketing at the minute … Every advertising dollar counts at the minute … But I will be testing more Branding Marketing for my new site in Mansfield… Obviously il let you know how it goes)

The general public are starting to “know them, like them and trust them” (Safe Store and Big Yellow)

That becomes powerful and much harder for the independents to compete.

So my takeaway don’t underestimate the big boys when looking for a new site

Their strength is in their Brand and Brand is difficult and expensive to build
