Hey Store Nation,

Well, it was a very interesting day yesterday!

We had a customer at our outdoor site Beverley fall through the units floor ... Yes you read it correct.

The floor was that wet in the unit, it was actually rotten, he put his foot on it and went straight through .... Sounds bad. Ha it is bad!

And ... That ladies and gents is supposed to be the best out door storage facility in the UK 2022 :-( haha

Dont know whats happened yet ... but we will find out. Keep you posted

Thats not all my friends ..... Ohhhh no ....

We also had a leak in a pipe under ground at Willerby on Friday ... Its gushing out 2 litres per minute

Which meant we have had to turn off all the water.

We sublet part of the building to a nursery ... Thats meant they had to close Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday .... Obviously they are not happy.

Yesterday the nursery brought in environmental health ... Brilliant!

Environmental Health told us we had to shut because it wasnt fair on our staff working with no running water.

We've had leak specialists looking for the leak all week but as of yet no one can find the leak :-/

Ohhhhh man its been one of those days!

Im writing this at 7.30pm Wednesday evening ... Im playing footie at 8-9pm ... Then im having a BIG glass of wine.

Sounds stupid but I do appreciate when things go wrong in business because it reassures and reminds me how good ive got it.

Problems are few and far between but when they arise just take yourself out of the moment and ask a simple question ....

Will I be still upset about this in a years time?

If the answer is no dont let it bother you or change your mood ... Its not a price worth paying!

If the answer is yes ... I allow myself to be upset or mad for a short period of time.

Then I ask .... what can you do about it? If its nothing "see above", if you can do something about it, do it!

Since ive been writing this newsletter, ive realised this sort of thing happens more I ever thought.

  • 2 - These 3 high yielding dividends stocks just raised their dividends by more than 10%

One of them is a self storage company!!

  • 3 - SOLD!! A 14 site self storage portfolio!!

The portfolio had a massive 8,697 units!!

We dont know the price paid for the sites BUT we do know a $114 million loan was secured

So yesterday was a very testing day ... I never get dragged into the day to day running of the storage ... But yesterday I did. Ha and I have to say I didnt enjoy it.

Having said all that ... we still managed to do 3 reservations across our sites.

And although not many move ins, we did get people taking extra rooms.

March is looking above average for all sites at this point
