Ive been stalking Big Yellow!! Hahah ... sound creepy but its true.
Ive been doing some research into acquisitions ... Especially Big Yellow Acquisitions.
I thought id share a couple of the acquisitions with you that ive found interesting .... and also last years results! Crazy and exciting reading!!

1 - £10 Million Acquisition!!
Big Yellow buys Simply Self Storage in Aberdeen for £10 Million BIG ONES.
The site was 53,000 sq ft in size and in a great location .... At this price BY will get a 6% yield, rising to 9% within 2 years. Very interesting
2 - I get people asking me if Big Yellow is Armadillo ... The answer is yes
The sale was completed in 2021 ... But I dont think the purchase shocked anyone in the industry as it had been expected for a longtime

Self Storage is an AMAZING business!!! Heres why ....
For every £1 you make or save it could make you up to 25X that on your exit.
That’s why it’s so important to manage your expenses and increase your revenue
Before every starts getting excited and think its normal for a 25 times multiple on your business its not .... The 25X is on freeholds in London. Sorry .... I know I got you excited!!
If you have a chain of leaseholds then it will be 8-12X
If you have one storage facility it’s likely to be 2.5 - 5x
These figures are very loose ones as theres a whole host of factors that comes into a valuation
Whatever your multiple it’s worth looking how you can increase revenue, can you put an extra unit in the corner? … can you put a topper on your containers? …. Can you put a container in your car park to rent out (so many people miss this one)!
Extra revenue goes straight to the bottom line in many cases (because our costs are fixed) which then increases your exit.
Always be thinking about the exit even if you don’t want to sell … you then make a better business
