Another small mistake ive made recently

I like talking about the totally F*ck ups I make … I think people hide there mistakes and it can make the rest of us feel like losers

I always said to my kids we don’t make mistakes we have just found another thing or another way that doesn’t work

So here’s my stupid mistake

I listened to a sales book and it talked about increasing the competition in your team but boasting morale at the same time

The books idea was to install a bell that you ring every time you get a sale or in our case a reservation

So like a good little book worm …. I installed a bell in our reception 🤡😳

The team looked at the bell and said “what the bloody hell is that”

I explained the reason behind it and guess what???

At this point I love to sales increased, the morale sky rocketed and competition was healthy BUT ….

No! None of that happened!!

Its never ever been rang!!

So my takeaway is just because it works for someone else its doesn’t mean its right for you or your team

Do you, do what’s inline with your culture!

Sorry team … We will take the bell down 😅
